A Charles I silver counter box, probably by or from the workshops of Simon and Willem de Passe, of cylindrical form, the cover pierced with a bust portrait of Charles I, the base similarly decorated with a bust portrait of Henrietta Maria, the sides with two panels of fanciful birds and scrolling foliage, containing a set of thirty-two gaming counters, die-struck with portraits of English monarchs from Edward the Confessor to the birth of Charles II, height of box 2.8cm.
