JOHNS, C.A. Flowers of the Field. London: S.P.C.K, [n.d. but 1853]. First edition, 2 vols., 12mo (170 x 110mm.) Numerous illustrations. (Slight toning to page ends.) Original embossed green cloth, gilt titling to spines. (Mild rubbing to boards and some discolour to lower cover of volume 1). Provenance: Anne Frances Barker (ink ownership inscription to both front-free endpapers dated 1857). Note: Scarce. COPAC records only three copies of the first edition in university libraries. - And three other volumes on wild flowers (5).
