CLARKE, Harry (illustrator). Hans Christian ANDERSEN. Fairy Tales. London: George G. Harrap & Co., [n.d. but 1916]. Limited edition, of 125 copies, this number 78 signed in ink by Harry Clark, 4to (283 x 186mm.) 16 tipped-in colour plates with tissue-guards (p.33-34 missing, a few leaves completely torn, large orange crayon marks over several pages, damp-staining to some margins.) Original vellum covers, art nouveau vignette in gilt to upper cover (creasing to vellum and some soiling, text block now detached). Note: Andersen's Fairy Tales was Harry Clarke's first completed commission as a book illustrator.
