First edition in English, 8vo (220 x 135m.) (Occasional light spotting or browning.) Later morocco-backed cloth, t.e.g. (extremities rubbed and somewhat scuffed, endpapers replaced and slightly creased). Provenance: Griffith Davies Esq (presentation inscription 'with the Translator's kind regards'); Institution of Civil Engineers (bookplate to front pastedown and binding).
