BIBLE, in English. The Holy Bible: containing the Old and New Testaments, with Reference, Numerous Critical and Explanatory Notes, and a Condensed Concordance. London & New York: Cassell, Petter, & Galpin, [n.d. but circa 1870s.] 4to (314 x 238mm.) Family Register, frontispiece, numerous illustrations. (Occasional spotting.) Contemporary black morocco, tooled in gilt and blind, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second, the others with repeat decoration in gilt, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (light rubbing to extremities, tape reinforcements to upper and lower hinges). Provenance: Helen Dupere (a gift inscription in ink from her mother on the front-free endpaper).
