A Japanese Arita porcelain bottle, late 17th century, the globular body and narrow neck painted in underglaze blue and overglaze enamels with birds perched amidst blossoming and fruiting branches, height 25.5cm (minor rim chips). Note: for a similarly decorated bottle of the same form, see the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, number 2002.447.41.
