A Russian silver keyless wind hunting cased gentleman's pocket watch, the case front engraved and enamelled with a black Russian Imperial Romanov double-headed eagle, beneath blue ribbons, the unsigned jewelled lever movement with Cyrillic detail, the enamel dial with black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and signed 'Pavel Buhre' in Cyrillic, the inner case with engraved maker's inscription and detailed 'No. 235917', the case back stamped '84' over '0.875', case diameter 5.2cm. Note: Pavel Buhre was born into a family of watchmakers from Neuchâtel, Switzerland, who settled in Russia during the 19th century. He provided most of the watches commissioned by the Imperial Family during the reign of Nicholas II. In 1899, the firm received the title of Supplier to the Imperial Court.
