London: Hurst and Blackett, Publishers, 1866. 2 vols., first edition, presentation signature by Mary Combermere to Lord Houghton on title-pages, 8vo (221 x 137mm.) 2 portrait frontispieces, engraved vignettes to title-pages. (Light spotting to preliminaries and occasional finger-marks.) Original green cloth blocked in black and blind (bumped to extremities). Note: two a.l.s. included, one from Mary Combermere to Lord Houghton and another related letter referencing the Duke of Wellington and the battle of Seringapatam. Provenance: Robert Milnes-Crewe (bookplate to the front pastedown); The West Horsley Place Collection.
