LEIGHTON, Clare. Woodcuts… Examples of the Work of Clare Leighton with an introduction by Hilaire Belloc. London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1930. First edition, limited edition of 450 copies, this one number 399 signed by Clare Leighton to the limitation page, 4to (316 x 245mm.) Floral vignettes to the preliminaries, 40 woodcuts tipped-in onto 36 leaves with captioned tissue-guards, plus 1 untitled tipped-in woodcut of a mouse to the rear. Original brown cloth with tipped-in woodcut to upper cover, gilt titles to spine (somewhat affected by damp). Provenance: The West Horsley Place Collection.
