DICKENS, Charles. The Life and Adventures of Martin Chuzzlewit. London: 1844. First edition in book form, 8vo (216 x 131mm.) Portrait frontispiece, additional decorative title, 38 engraved plates by 'Phiz'. (Plates spotted and browned as usual, occasional other light spotting.) Contemporary half-calf (extremities rubbed and slightly scuffed). Provenance: Henry Gillett (armorial bookplate to front pastedown). - And seven more volumes by Dickens and a collection of original parts (a lot).
