POLAR EXPLORATION. - Elisha Kent KANE. Arctic Explorations: The Second Grinnell Expedition in search of Sir John Franklin, 1853, '54, '55. London: T. Nelson and Sons, 1867. 8vo (198 x 126mm.) Frontispiece, tissue-guard, and 7 engraved plates, 6 with tissue-guards, folding map. (A repair to small tear in the folding map, inner hinge split at title-page, occasional spotting.) Original green cloth blocked in blind (bumped to extremities and small split at top of spine). Provenance: William Gribble (a school prize bookplate to the front pastedown). - And eighteen more books on polar exploration (19).
