A Japanese Shibayama inlaid and lacquered ivory folding fan, Meiji period, the pair of guards finely worked in gilt lacquer and inlaid in mother-of-pearl and various hardstones with birds and insects amidst peach branches and bamboo, the eighteen sticks with similarly lacquered decoration to both sides, length 40.5cm (some losses).
