A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Yabu Meizan, Meiji period, the stout ovoid body painted with three panels of figures in a mountainous landscape, a mountainous winter landscape with pavilions, bridge and pleasure barge and Kannon seated on the back of an elephant, all within moulded barbed edge framing, divided by moulded gilt pendant tassels, reserved against a ground of irises and butterflies between simulated brocade borders and key fret rim, gilt signature to base, height 20cm (lacking cover).
