MANDELA, Nelson. Long Walk to Freedom. South Africa: Macdonald Purnell, 1994. First edition, seventh impression, signed by Nelson Mandela on the half-title and dated '18.7.95', 8vo (234 x 139mm.) Illustrations. Original black cloth, dust-jacket (faint shelf wear to extremities.) Provenance: Ian Whitlock (name in calligraphic lettering on the half-title). Ian Whitlock was a senior manager for Eskom, the South African state electricity utility. In recognition of Eskom's work in electrifying as many homes in the townships as possible, all twenty-five members of the management team were presented with a personalised signed copy of this book by Mandela.
