SCOTT, Sir Walter. [The Waverley Novels.] Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1871. 25 vols., Centenary edition, 8vo (179 x 113mm.) Frontispieces, numerous engraved plates. (Occasional spotting to plate margins.) Contemporary half-morocco over marbled paper boards, elaborate gilt to spine with five raised bands, green and brown morocco lettering pieces to the second and fourth compartments (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Joan Clegg (ink name inscribed to the preliminary blanks) (25).
