Folding lithographic frontispiece, folding map, 6 folding genealogies, 42 engraved or lithographed plates, numerous wood-engraved illustrations. (Spotting and browning throughout, small tape repairs to verso of frontispiece and other leaves, pp.93-132 of vol. 2 are detached). Contemporary vellum backed boards, morocco lettering pieces to the spines (rubbed to extremities) (2).
