HALL, Samuel Carter. The Vernon Gallery of British Art. London: George Virtue, Ivy Lane, 1850-1854. 2 vols. (series 1-4), folio (345 x 258mm.) 146 steel engraved plates, text accompaniment. (Occasional finger-marks, light browning, text wholly split at contents page of series 3-4, frontispiece portrait of Robert Vernon in series 1-2 is loose.) Contemporary morocco, gilt ruled, five raised bands to spine with gilt titles, g.e. (rubbed to all extremities). - And two further illustrated volumes (including Robert Louis Stevenson's 'Fables', 1914, 4to) (4).
