A George IV mahogany library bookcase cabinet, possibly by Gillows of Lancaster, the moulded pediment above four arch glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, the base fitted with four further doors inset with gilt brass lattice and flowerhead grills backed in brushed satin, raised on a plinth base, height 210cm, width 171cm, depth 38cm. Note: a bookcase with similar features is illustrated in 'Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840' by Susan E. Stuart, page 378, plate 447.
