A mid/late 19th century Italian pietre dure and gilt metal mounted casket of square form, the hinged lid and side panels inlaid in various hardstone specimens with birds, leaves and shells, all mounted within a strapwork frame and raised on ball feet, the interior lined in silk, height 14.5cm, width 24cm, depth 24cm (cracks to top panel).
