COOKE TAYLOR, W. The National Portrait Gallery of Illustrious and Eminent Personages, chiefly of the Nineteenth Century. London: Peter Jackson, [n.d. but circa 1846]. 4 vols, 4to (269 x 207mm.) Profusely illustrated with steel-engraved plates with tissue-guards. (Occasional spotting to margins and plate margins, toning.) Contemporary blue straight-grain morocco, triple fillet and foliate borders to covers, five compartments to the spine with raised gilt bands (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Alfred B. Langmore (bookplates to pastedowns of volumes 2 and 3). - And seven more art related volumes (11).
