LOT 2656
A cream silk stocking, finely embroidered with an ascending line terminating in a palmette, the top embroidered in red with 'PV' over 'S', length 87cm, together with a letter dated 8.x.06 from Isobel Barson to Mr Nurse, detailed 'Thank you for the postal order... I am sorry the stockings are nearly all odd which makes it awkward. P.V. means Princess Victoria. I hope you will be able to sell it before the sale as the King might not like to hear of any things of hers being sold...' contained within a glass-topped box, labelled 'Queen Victorias Stocking'.
