CALLIMACHUS. Hymni, Epigrammata, et Fragmenta ex Recensione Theodori J. G.F. Graevii. Utrecht: Franciscum Halmam and G. Vande Water, 1697. Vol. 1 only (of 2), 8vo (192 x 112mm.) Additional engraved title with red border, title in red and black with engraved printer's device, 6 engraved plates of Greek gods, text in Greek with Latin translation, head and tail-pieces, 4 indices to rear, note to binder. (Browning, spotting until p.150, ink ownership notes on front free endpaper.) Contemporary calf (wear with some loss to spine, rubbed). Note: the second volume, not present here, contains the notes and commentaries of German scholar Ezechiel Spanheim on Callimachus. Provenance: Thomas Cherry (bookplate to front free endpaper).
