OXFORD. - David LOGGAN. Oxonia Illustrata, sive Omnium Celeberrimae istius Universitatis Collegiorum Aularum. Oxford: E Theatro Sheldoniano, 1675. Folio (430 x 287mm.) Engraved decorative title, 3 engraved plates of text, index of plates, 40 double-page engraved plates, including the treble-page plate of 'Christ's College'. (Some marginal paper repairs, spotting and damp-staining to margins throughout, mostly affecting plate captions, 'Oriel College' most affected.) Contemporary red morocco, two gilt rectangles with foliate borders, six raised bands to spine with gilt lettering to the second compartment, foliate design repeating to the rest (neatly rebacked, rubbing to extremities, endpapers and front and rear blanks replaced). Provenance: Frederic Morrell (bookplate to the front pastedown); Joyce Cary, novelist (bookplate to the front pastedown).
