First edition, 8vo (232 x 151mm.) 20 wood-engraved plates, 6 folding maps, including 1 geological subsection and 1 in colour. (Browning, occasional spotting.) Original blind-stamped green cloth, gilt to spine (both hinges cracked, but holding, rear joint split). Provenance: Arthur Milman (bookplate to front pastedown). - And seven more volumes relating to the Alps, or exploration (8).
