An impressive Japanese inlaid lacquer circular dish, Meiji period, finely lacquered with an eagle flying in pursuit of a pair of pheasants above various flowers and grasses, picked out with inlaid mother-of-pearl and bone chrysanthemums and leaves, within a gilt simulated brocade border, diameter 59cm (minor rim restoration).
