MINIATURE BOOKS. Plaisir et Gaite. Paris: Marcilly, 1838. 64mo (26 x 17mm.) 8 engraved plates, two poems 'Le Charm' and 'L'Innocence' and a story in verse 'Paul et Virginia', followed by an almanac for the months of the year. (Three leaves with a small tear, toning, small corner creases.) Original green morocco, gilt borders and design to covers (some rubbing). Provenance: David E. Hicks (name inscribed to front pastedown). - And a further forty-eight miniature books, many housed within a miniature revolving mahogany bookcase with fan patera and line inlay (49).
