A Japanese blue and white porcelain jar, Meiji period, of compressed circular form with moulded butterfly handles, the body painted with opposing panels of a Buddhistic lion amidst peonies, reserved against a leafy whorl ground with scattered objects, height 20cm (lacking cover).
