LOT 3226
HORSFIELD, Thomas Walker. The History, Antiquities, and Topography of the County of Sussex. London: Messrs. Nichols and Son, 1835. 2 vols., 4to (311 x 228mm.) 2 folding maps of Sussex, one hand-coloured, numerous engraved plates. (Many plates replaced in facsimile, creasing and browning to the maps.) Later maroon half-morocco, gilt lettering to spine (endpapers replaced, surface rubbing to spines). Provenance: East Sussex County Council (labels to pastedowns). - And nine further volumes mainly relating to Sussex (including James Dallaway and Edmund Cartwright's 'History of Western Sussex', vol. 2 (only), 1830-1832, 4to) (11).
