A Chinese blue and white small porcelain brushpot, Kangxi style but late 19th century, of slightly waisted cylindrical form, painted in vivid blue with a scholar raising his cup in a toast to the moon, opposing a two-line inscription to other side, underglaze blue double ring to base, height 14.4cm (glaze fritting to rim).
