LOT 1857
An ancient bronze seal ring, possibly 9th-11th century, Frankish, the curve-ended matrix detailed 'Renovatio Regni Franc' to the outer border, with further initials to the centre, length 3.3cm. Note: the motto Renovatio regni Francorum (renewal of the kingdom of the Franks) was used by several monarchs of the Carolingians, Widonid and Ottonian dynasties in the 9th-11th centuries.
