ARDIZZONE, Edward (illustrator). - Maurice GORHAM. The Local. London: for Cassell & Co., at the Curwen press, 1939. First edition, signed by Maurice Gorham, 8vo (231 x 152mm.) 15 colour lithograph plates, including 1 double-page. (Mild toning.) Original pictorial boards (lacking top of spine, rubbing to board edges, minor soiling.) Note: scarce due to the bombing of Cassell's warehouse in the Blitz. Provenance: J. E. Rewe (name and address inscribed on the half-title).
