BAKER, George. The History and Antiquities of the County of Northampton. London: John Bowyer Nichols and Son, 1822-1830. 2 vols., folio (487 x 187mm.) 39 engraved plates, including 3 hand-coloured, numerous illustrations within the text. (Browning, occasionally heavy and offsetting, a loose leaf in volume two with loss, occasional spotting.) 20th century maroon cloth, gilt lettering to spine, g.e. (some fading, endpapers replaced, a few marks). Provenance: Will Hopkinson (bookplate to initial blank of volume 1); Law Society (gift inscribed in ink on initial blank of volume 1, stamps to preliminaries). - And nine further volumes of related interest (including Treadway Russell Nash's 'Collection for the History of Worcestershire, 2 vols., 1782, folio) (11).
