CARY, [John]. Cary's New English Atlas; Being A Complete Set of County Maps, from Actual Surveys… On Which are Particularly Delineated Those Roads which were Measured by Order of the Right Honourable the Postmaster-General. London: J. Cary, 1809. Folio (544 x 329mm.) Engraved double-page title, 'Contents' list on the front pastedown, 46 engraved maps on 44 sheets each with contemporary hand-colouring, 40pp. index to rear. (Maps with the county name in ink to the margins, some spotting to margins, a crease to the 'England' map, nearly half the maps with some marginal damp-staining, title loose.) Original half-calf (upper cover detached, heavily rubbed). Note: all the maps are dated between 1801 and 1809.
