A Chinese Canton carved export ivory part chess set, early 19th century, the Chinese side stained red, the Europeans left natural, the European white king, possibly George III or George IV, and pawns wearing wide-brimmed top hats, on carved oval bases, height of king 10.5cm (three white pawns and two red pawns missing), together with three other chess pieces, including a European carved ivory bust chess piece (some faults).
