INDIA. - [Nina E. MAZUCHELLI.] The Indian Alps and How We Crossed Them… by a Lady Pioneer. London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1876. First edition, large 8vo (254 x 178mm.) 10 chromolithographic plates, folding map. (Some foxing to front and rear leaves, browning, occasional offsetting.) Original red cloth, pictorial gilt to upper cover, g.e. (spine ends frayed, slight rubbing to extremities). Note: the author set out to explore the Eastern glaciers of the Himalayas and the gilt vignette on the upper cover shows her being carried aloft by bearers. However, she was forced to abandon the expedition due to the rigorous conditions.
