MOUNTBATTEN of Burma [Louis.] Report to the Combined Chiefs of Staff by the Supreme Allied Commander South East Asia 1943-1945. London: HMSO, 1951. Signed by the author and with a.l.s., 8vo (274 x 209mm.) Numerous colour maps. (Mild toning.) Original green cloth, gilt lettering to upper cover and spine. Note: signed 'To Harold [Wernher], from a brother author, Dickie'. Wernher was a major-general who played an important role in Operation Overlord. The a.l.s. is a typed 5 line letter to Harold saying that he has had 'a few copies of my South-East Asia report specially bound, and am sending you and Zia [Harold's wife, Anastasia de Torby], one of these forthwith'.
