Limited de luxe edition, this number 308 of 500 copies signed by the author and with an original etching ('The Menpes Children') by Whistler, 4to (264 x 203mm.) Numerous coloured and uncoloured plates, captioned tissue-guards. (Toning, occasional spotting to plate margins and to preliminaries.) Original cream cloth (rubbing to spines ends, finger-marks and soiling to lower cover). Provenance: 'Arthur and Joan' (gift inscribed in ink to front-free endpaper).
