TRAVEL. - M. Anatole de DEMIDOFF. Travels in Southern Russia, and the Crimea; through Hungary, Wallachia, & Moldavia, during the year 1837. London: John Mitchell, 1853. Volume 1 only (of 2), first translated edition, large 8vo (258 x 165mm.) 12 wood-engraved plates, folding map with hand-colouring. (Lacking 1 plate from this volume, frontispiece loose, browning to preliminaries and to map.) Original red cloth, blind-stamped with gilt arms of the Romanovs to upper cover (lacking spine panel, rubbing to extremities). - And a further seven volumes relating to travel (including volume 2 of Edmond Temple's 'Travels in Various Parts of Peru', 1830, 8vo) (8).
