Frontispieces, 12 colour plates based on paintings by George Marsden, numerous photographic illustrations, 3 folding maps and 1 folding panorama, errata leaf. (1 colour plate loose with chipping, chipping to the panorama.) Original blue cloth, blocked in gilt (damp-staining, worn). Provenance: W.H. Smith library (bookplates to front pastedowns) (2).
