TRAVEL & EXPLORATION. - George ANSON. A Voyage Round the World in the Years MDCCXL, I, II, III, IV… sent upon an Expedition to the South Seas. Compiled… by Richard Walter. London: for John and Paul Knapton, 1748. Third edition, 8vo (198 x 118mm.) 3 folding charts. (Occasional spotting, toning, small tear along one crease of 'Pacific Ocean' chart.) Contemporary calf, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (minor loss to the lettering piece). Note: the charts are: 'Shewing the Track of the Centurion Round the World', 'A Chart of the Southern Part of South America' and 'A Chart of the Pacific Ocean'. Provenance: Louisa Osborn (name-plate to the front pastedown). [Sabin 1646].
