INDIA. - G. HUTCHINSON. Narrative of the Mutinies in Oude, compiled from Authentic Records. London: Smith, Elder & Co., 1859. First edition, 8vo (198 x 122mm.) Folding map, 24pp. publisher's advertisements to rear. (Toning, occasional mild spotting.) Original cloth, gilt lettering to spine (fading to spine, rubbing to extremities). Note: scarce. The mutinies of Oude were one of the last actions of the Indian Rebellion of 1857 and these contemporary records have diary-like immediacy. Provenance: G.H. Mainwaring (name inscribed to title-page).
