PEAKE, Mervyn. Poems and Drawings. London: Keepsake Press, 1965. First edition, first issue, limited to 150 copies only this one inscribed by Maeve Gilmore, 4to (229 x 146mm.) Illustrations by Peake. (Toning, small finger-mark to one leaf.) Original pictorial card covers (browning and some creasing to margins, stain to upper cover). Note: gift inscribed in ink by Maeve Gilmore, wife of Mervyn Peake. The inscription on the verso of the last leaf reads 'To David, with best wishes from Maeve- Good Friday 1965'. At this time Peake had been in declining health for some time. Provenance: 'Dennis' (inscribed in ink).
