                FLAXMAN, John. Compositions… from the Divine Poem of Dante Alighieri, containing Hell, Purgatory and Paradise. London: Longman, Hurst, Rees, and Orme, 1807. Oblong folio (283 x 441mm.) Title, additional engraved title, 110 plates by Flaxman. (Title loose, some loss to initial blank, 1 plate loose, light to moderate spotting throughout, toning.) Original green morocco backed cloth (worn). Provenance: Artists' Society (bookplate of 'Bye-laws' to front pastedown, stamp to title). - And two further volumes illustrated by John Flaxman (including 'The Odyssey of Homer', 1805, oblong folio, and 'The Theogony Works & Days & the Days of Hesiod', engraved by William Blake, 1817, oblong folio) (3).
