LOT 2601
A late 19th century Gibbs & Canning of Tamworth terracotta majolica garden planter and stand, the flared square body relief decorated with green glazed foliage and pale blue Gothic form strapwork against a brown ground, flanked by foliate handles, the matching stand similarly glazed, impressed oval mark to interior of planter, overall height 49.5cm (faults and repairs). Note: founded in 1847, Gibbs & Canning Ltd were noted in particular for their architectural terracotta and worked on pieces which adorn the Natural History Museum, London.
