Original vellum, the Churchill coat-of-arms in gilt to upper covers, gilt lettering to spines, g.e., green slipcases (small knock to slipcase of volume 14 - 'Marlborough, His Life and Times', slight variation in tone to the vellum). Provenance: Nigel E. Bayman (limitation plate to front pastedowns). Note: includes the 4 volume 'Collected Essays of Winston Churchill'. There's also a limitation bookplate on the front pastedown of each volume. This was a significant publishing endeavour and 3000 sets were intended but the publisher was declared bankrupt before completing the project, so less than 2000 sets are in existence (38).
