CIVIL WAR. - Thomas GUMBLE. The Life of General Monck, Duke of Albemarle, &c, with Remarks Upon His Actions. London: by J.S. for Thomas Basset, 1671. First edition, 8vo (178 x 105mm.) (Lacking portrait frontispiece, without errata leaf to rear, marginal loss to Ee7, occasional browning, minor soiling, unidentifiable name to title, offsetting of last leaf onto rear blank.) Near contemporary mottled calf, brown morocco lettering piece to the spine (rebacked, tips restored). Note: there is a variant with an errata leaf to rear. Provenance: Stanley Crowe (pencil name to front pastedown). [ESTC R17075].
