BLAKE, William. Edwin John ELLIS and William Butler YEATS (editors). The Works of William Blake, Poetic, Symbolic, and Critical. London: Bernard Quaritch, 1893. 3 vols., large 8vo (252 x 150mm.) Frontispieces, numerous illustrations and lithographed facsimiles. (Moderate spotting to front and rear leaves.) Near contemporary green half morocco by Bumpus over green cloth-covered boards, gilt lettering to the second and third compartments, foliate gilt to the rest, t.e.g. (some rubbing to spine seams), modern slipcase. Note: an important work that elucidated Blake's esoteric system. Provenance: Ernest Ridley Debenham (bookplates to the front pastedowns) (3).
