BEWICK, Thomas. A History of British Birds. Newcastle: for T. Bewick, 1826. 2 vols., sixth edition, 8vo (224 x 129mm.) Numerous wood-engraved illustrations. (Toning, text cracked at A2 of volume 2, minor dust-soiling.) Contemporary brown half calf over marbled paper-covered boards, black and brown morocco lettering pieces to the spines (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Robert Hutchinson (bookplates to front pastedown, and embossed stamps to front-free endpapers). - And a further ten volumes (including W.F.P. Napier's 'History of the War in the Peninsula and in the South of France', 2 vols., 1839, 8vo) (12).
