CONAN-DOYLE, Arthur (contributor). The Strand Magazine. London: George Newnes Ltd, 1891-1908. 31 vols., 8vo (242 x 163mm.) Numerous illustrations, some in colour. (Moderate spotting, occasional soiling.) Original pictorial cloth, eight volumes with g.e. (rubbing to extremities, some hinges weakening, sunning to spine of volume 2). Note: comprises volumes 1-21, 24-26, 28-30, 32, 34-36. Volumes 2-6 contain the entire 24 stories that were subsequently published as the 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'. Volume 36 has three stories that were collected as 'His Last Bow: The Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes' (31).
