A rare Excise wine glass, mid-18th century, with rounded funnel bowl on a plain hollow stem and circular conical foot, height 15.6cm. Note: wine glasses with hollow stems were made to counter the Excise Act of 1746, where it was ordered that glass was to be taxed on weight.
